Why Nurse Aid

Why Work With Us

We are direct about what we offer — and what we expect. If this sounds like your kind of workplace, we want to hear from you.

🧩
Complex, meaningful work
We support participants with forensic histories, dual diagnosis, complex physical needs, and other high complexity presentations. This is not routine support work. It is challenging, skilled, and genuinely important.
📋
Participant-specific induction — always
You will never start a new participant shift unprepared. Every staff member receives a participant-specific induction covering de-escalation protocols, communication preferences, clinical information, and daily routines — before their first shift.
👩‍⚕️
Clinical support behind you
Our registered nurse is on call 24/7. When something clinical comes up on shift — and it will — you have direct access to a clinical lead, not a call centre. You are not doing this alone.
📈
Real career development
We invest in training beyond compliance minimums — Module 1 high intensity certifications, BSP training, mental health first aid, and clinical upskilling. Staff who want to develop clinically have a pathway to do so.
🤝
A team that is honest with you
We debrief after incidents. We do not blame first. We treat staff wellbeing as a clinical governance issue — because burnt-out support workers cannot provide good care. If something is wrong, we want to know.
🌏
Diversity is a clinical asset
Our participants come from varied cultural, linguistic, and social backgrounds. We actively recruit for diversity — in background, language, experience, and perspective — and we match support workers thoughtfully.

FAQ

Candidate Questions

Experience is valued but not always required for support worker roles. We look for people who have the right values — empathy, reliability, and genuine commitment to participant wellbeing — and we invest in training. All staff must hold or be working towards a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent, and must complete our participant-specific induction before their first shift.
You need a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Working with Children Check (if applicable), First Aid certificate, and a Certificate III in Individual Support — or be currently working towards it. For high intensity support roles, additional Module 1 training is required and provided. For nursing roles, current AHPRA registration is required.
Every staff member receives a participant-specific induction before their first shift — including the participant's de-escalation protocol, communication preferences, daily routine, and any relevant clinical information. Our registered nurse is available 24/7 for clinical questions. We debrief after any significant incident and treat staff wellbeing as a clinical governance issue, not an afterthought.
Yes. Support workers who demonstrate clinical aptitude and leadership can progress to senior support worker and team leader roles. We also support further study towards Certificate IV, Diploma, and nursing qualifications. Staff interested in Module 1 high intensity training are actively supported to complete it.
